On behalf of the Executive Board of PFTCE, I am pleased to announce that the vacant position of PFTCE Field Representative has been offered to long-time Union member Michelle Batten, and she will begin her duties with PFTCE on August 25th.
The hiring team members were all impressed by the many years of volunteerism that Michelle has dedicated to the Union, including her seven years on the Bargaining Team, more than seven years as Treasurer, prior years as the Communications VP, and her long-term role as a Health & Welfare Trustee.
In 1972, while still in high school, Michelle began her career at PPS. From 1983 until 1994, she worked at the BESC in the Word Processing Department. After a break in service, she returned in 1998 as a Senior Admin Secretary with Career and Technical Education, and has been stationed most recently at Rice site.
After the school year begins, and she has had an opportunity to settle into our offices, I am hoping that Michelle and I can plan visits to schools and worksites to meet with our members. After a solo year of leadership, I look forward to working with a dedicated new partner, and I know that all of you will welcome Michelle to her new post at PFTCE as much as I.
Take it easy~
B.
